Inspired by Mike’s primitive years as a musician and record producer, the AW23 collection began with Mike in Premier’s Queens studio exchanging ideas for beats and forming his own multi layered soundtrack composition for the runway. The concept of production permeates the whole collection as the design process replicates what it’s like to jam in a recording studio— finding new rhythms and experimenting with different novelty materials. Traditional tailoring principles are blended with those from skate culture and shapers are loosely drawn with spacious proportions— flowing with effortless downtown ease. The clothing is elevated in opulence, finessed by sophisticated materials like cashmere, faux fur, and eyelash silk cast in a monochrome palette of grey, champagne, ochre, burgundy and mint green to replicate the city hues.
